Experiencing Birth Doula Services
Birth Doula, Childbirth Educator, Certified Personal Trainer, Life Coach and Business Coach
Hello my name is Cindy Pridgeon and I have a confession to make… I HAVE ONE REGRET about becoming a birth Doula and that is… I didn’t do it sooner!
You see 28 years ago I was pregnant with my first child and I did not know the first thing about having a baby!”Do I push or breathe, breathe and push?” “Is it going to hurt?” “Will I be able to do it”! I was excited and yet nervous! After all, I had never experienced having a baby before. And what an experience it was! You see due to many complications my pregnancy was considered “high risk” and…as you might imagine I really needed emotional, educational and physical support. However, I didn’t know I had any options. After all, I had never heard the word “BIRTH DOULA” before and in fact didn’t even know there was such a thing until I met my childbirth educator, Darlene. Can I tell you, she was amazing! I was hoping and praying that she would attend my birth and give me the support I needed during my labor! And guess what? She did! Having her by my side made such a profound impact not only my birth experience, but my life as well! So much so I decided to become a birth Doula. I wanted to be able to provide other parents with the same incredible support, comfort and education that I received.
Isn’t it awesome to know that you have a choice? You can choose your own birth plan, you can choose a home birth, hospital birth, birth in a tub, you can choose a mid-wife or a doctor, and you can choose the support of a birth Doula, like me!
For me… being a birth Doula is my passion. And after 20+ years of supporting friends and family members during their births… 2 years ago I became a birth Doula, (DONA) trained. Currently I am working on my certification for Childbirth Education through CAAPA and I am attending the Homeopathic Academy of Southern California to become a Homeopathic Practitioner. I also have my Personal Training Certification from National Association of Sports Nutrition.
For more information about my birth Doula services, fees (credit cards are accepted) or if you just have a question please call me.
