Lola Burmeister

Labor Doula, Certified Massage Therapist

Lola started her doula study in 2008 and has been practicing since March, 2009. (She was, however, attending family births since she was 14 years old.) She is currently an Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine understudy. She has been practicing massage since getting her license in Minnesota in the year 2000. Her doula support is influenced by her experiences in body work and acupuncture in that she uses acupressure and massage to help in active labor, in addition to breathing and visualization techniques. She strongly believes in supporting Mom and Partner obtain their desired birth experience.

Lola studied Human Ecology at the University of Madison-Wisconsin. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development with an emphasis in Women’s Studies and Child Development (ages 0-5). She continued post-graduate education with WestEd in the Program for Infant and Toddler Care. She has worked in the non-profit sector in child development education and early intervention. She plans to combine her practice of Acupuncture and Herbology and Women’s Health Studies to support pre and post-natal families.
