Our Doulas

Stacey Scarborough

Passionate! That is how Stacey sees herself as doula and educator. Her main focus is education and she is a senior educator at Sharp Mary Birch and Scripps Health. She teaches childbirth preparation, breastfeeding and parenting preparation. She also teaches specialty classes such as sleep strategies and multiple preparation (through Sharp.com).   She offers private classes in your home as well.

As an educator, she inspires new parents to know their options and to empower themselves with the information-gathering process to allow them the best birth possible with the constant mantra: “How will she remember this?”
Stacey is a certified birth and postpartum doula, and works mainly as a postpartum doula, as well as a Certified Lactation Educator and loves to support women through the classes she teaches and the support groups that she leads through Scripps Health.
Stacey is a DONA, Int. approved birth doula trainer (since 1998) and also trains women to become Certified Childbirth Educators through ICEA.
As a founder and sole owner of Beautiful Beginnings, it is her goal to help you find a great doula for your needs through our website and also by providing the most up-to-date and well-qualified doulas for your needs.

Passionate and grateful! Stacey is constantly grateful to have found herself in this field that has allowed her to live her passion. She is a good listener with a joyful spirit, but can also offer a calming presence as you learn more about your birth and baby. She has 3 amazing children, and it is because of her own preparation efforts, as well as continually learning about parenting, that brought her to this field. Her oldest son gifted her with the best present of all: a granddaughter who is a delight. Her middle son and youngest daughter have interesting careers and they are excited for their journeys ahead.
Stacey and her husband love being around water, biking, hiking, long walks with their dogs at the local beaches and bay front, and their next adventure in life: traveling in their 24′ travel trailer, known as the “Nuthouse” (because she assess that she is kind of a squirrel!)
