Meet Postpartum Doulas

For as long as I can remember,  I have loved caring for infants. I studied Child Development at Grossmont Community College. While attending college, I was a nanny for families with newborns and up for over 6 years. I also worked at a daycare center as the head infant teacher for two years. After having two miscarriages, my daughter was born September 2019. During my fourth trimester with my newborn daughter, I struggled with lack of support and establishing breastfeeding alone. Through research I found out about postpartum doulas when my daughter was 6 months old. I witnessed firsthand the impact postpartum support was on a family who hired a doula. I can provide resources that families may not have known about prior to hiring a postpartum doula. Being a postpartum doula is rewarding because I am a part of a family’s transition into parenthood; and I am able to help families develop confidence in their roles as parents.
